Wilson Global Communications Successes

Julia Wilson, WGC CEO and Founder, has been awarded a “Leadership and Service Award” by Xavier University of Louisiana for her service to the university throughout the application and approval process of establishing the Confucius Institute at Xavier. The award was conferred during Xavier’s Spring Faculty Institute in January.

Xavier University of Louisiana is the first Historically Black College or University (HBCU) in the U.S., and the first university in the state of Louisiana to gain approval from the Chinese government to establish a Confucius Institute on it’s New Orleans campus. In December 2011, Xavier administrators signed the agreement in Beijing with Hanban, an arm of the Chinese Ministry of Education, at the Confucius Institute Headquarters in Beijing. WGC has worked as international consultants to Xavier for over a year throughout the application process and securing final approval of its Confucius Institute.
